B’Nai Tikvah is a Jewish synagogue located in Elbow Valley and attended by Martin Cohos, one of the founders of Cohos Evamy (now Dialog). In 2010 Martin undertook the roll of redesigning the formally Christian church into a contemporary Jewish synagogue. With help from Chito Pabustan (Gibbs Gage Architecture) they put together a unique and challenging master design to transform the rather bland existing temple, which even faced the wrong direction, into a vibrant environment that was more functional and better reflected the Jewish history and community.

After the master design was complete Martin sought the help from a local Artist/Master Fabricator, Jeff DeBoer, to drive the design details, construction, material procurement, project management and to make sure that Martins vision would come to light. Jeff as always stepped up to the challenge with a team of professionals that included: Brock Schroeder Principle of RJC Consulting, Kamil Kandalaft of Metal Alloy Fabrications, his wife Debbie DeBoer (Graphics and project management) and Ned Atkinson, formally Optics Lighting and now President of SS:Lighting.

The project threw some challenging times into the hands of Jeff but he managed to guide the build on budget and time to complete a environment, installation, artwork that with shape, color and light transforms a traditional space into a multi atmosphere venue that will serve the community of B’Nai Tikvah for generations to come.
